This guide is a checklist to make sure a site is ready for SEO
Is the site visible?
- Make sure the site is live and published on the correct domain.
Is this a W+M or WordPress Site?
- If W+M: confirm site builder can be accessed then no further steps are necessary
- If WordPress: confirm site is on HTTPS and the WordPress dashboard can be accessed then proceed to step 3
Make sure Yoast is active.
- From the WordPress Dashboard scroll down until you see the Yoast SEO menu option. See the Example to the right.
Confirm indexing is not Disabled
- From the WordPress Dashboard go to: Settings > Reading
(see item 1 below) - Confirm the Box is NOT checked next to “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”
(see item 2 below)
